What did Japanese women wear beneath their kimonos back in the days before underwire bras and synthetic fabrics?

The answer, for those vexed by such issues, is traditional underwear like the "fundoshi" loincloth. Now big Japanese lingerie company Wacoal is bringing back the fundoshi in its all-natural Nanafun line.

Available in a number of color combinations, the line includes both bras and briefs made of 100% cotton. The bras do not use wire to provide support, just time-tested human engineering that stresses comfort and durability.
